At least 60cm of new snow overnight in Akakura and it’s continuing to come down heavily this morning. Winds are light in the village and it’s -5 degrees. Visibility is okay up top, especially if you stay close to the tree line. Do take care out there and we recommend not heading off into the backcountry this weekend given the conditions. Approach the off-piste and sidecountry with care as it’s easy to sink and/or get stuck.
