Myoko Snow Report 5 January 2016: Warm and Cloudy Morning

A few clouds around for the next two days ahead of snow Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Current Conditions:
It’s a bit foggy in the Akakura village this morning and sunny up the top. We haven’t had fresh snow for a few days now so it’s pretty hard packed.

More sunshine and soft snow yesterday with warm temperatures.

Today’s Picks
Head to the groomers this morning for some fresh tracks and leave the trees for the weekend. The terrain park is up and running and has features for all ability levels.

Weather Outlook:
More warm weather and mild winds today and tomorrow before the cold northerly airflow hits us on Thursday. This system will remain in place until at least Monday and will deliver significant snowfall. At this stage we’re looking at one metre or more over this period.

Current Weather: Foggy and cloudy with patches of sun.

Current Visibility: Poor, fog clearing.

Lifts Operating: Quad lift, Birch hooded pair, Larch pair, Alpine first pair, Alpenblick second pair, middle pair.
Terrain Park is open with rail lines and a small kicker.

Myoko SuginoHara Ski Resort
Lifts Operating: Gondola 8:00 to 15:45, Romance 1 – 8:00 to 16:30, 2 – 9:00 to 15:45, 3 – 9:30 to 15:15
Terrain Park 16 items (planned).
Parking Fees apply December 30 (Wednesday) to January 3 until (day). Passenger car and microbus 300 yen, large bus 2,000 yen

Seki Onsen Ski Resort
Lifts operating: All lifts are open.

Myoko Ski Park
Open from 9:00am.

Tangram Ski
Lifts operating: Quad lift closed today.
Night skiing 16:30 to 20:30

Madarao Kogen Ski Resort
Lifts operating: First lift, second quad lift, third lift, fifth lift, super quad lift, 11 lift, 12 lift, second 15 lift.
Kids Park & Freeride Park are open (4m rail, 6m box)
Tree orchid course closed for snow shortage
