Myoko Snow Report All resorts open
21 December 2014
So after an unbelievable week or so of falls we’ve just had some time to take a breath. Yesterday all the resorts were open although not all lifts are operating at this stage. We had a reasonably clear morning with plenty of pow to shred and then some rain set in over the afternoon and evening.
Today we have a mixture of sun and snow forecast. At present it’s foggy down low with just a very thin layer of snow overnight. Akakan has all lifts open and Ikenotaira is opening up four lifts today. Until 26 December Ikenotaira is having a spacial 3,000 yen day ticket. Myoko Suginohara has the gondola, No. 2 High speed and No. 2 Romance lift running. Madarao Kogen is also open today, running Number 1 lift and Number 2 quad lift. As an opening special tickets are 2000 yen for adults and seniors, 1000 yen for elementary school age children. Akakura Onsen is running 5 lifts in Kumado and Ginrei as well as the Yodel No. 1 triple. Seki Onsen was busy digging, grooming and carving for their opening yesterday and is now fully open.
Kurohime Kogen Snow Park was also open this weekend. Here was the view from the top.
After some snow today and tomorrow we are back to some sunny days according to the Myoko weather page. Helping people get their roofs clear in the village.
There are some glide cracks on The Wall at Akakura Onsen as well as a good number of deep tree wells. Do take some caution if you’re out there.
Don’t forget to keep up with the snow progress via our Myoko webcams.
