Togakushi Snow World, Nagano
OverVIEW
Sited in an historic Nagano village Togakushi Snow World (戸隠スキー場), a.k.a. Togakushi Ski Menou, enjoys a wonderful position at the foot of Mount Menou. Togakushi Snow World is only is a medium sized ski area but still offers skiers and snowboarders a respectable 548 metres (1798 feet) of vertical descent with good powder conditions often available. Togakushi offers fewer crowds than the other better known Nagano resorts like Hakuba and Shiga-Kogen

ACCESS:
Train: Nearest stations - Nagano City or Kurohime (see below for bus connections)
Bus from Nagano: Exit the station via the Zenkoji exit, then take a Kawanakajima bus bound from Stop 7 for Togakushi Camp-jo / Camp World (approx. 45-50 minutes, cost Y1,160). Get off at Togakushi Chusha Shrine and walk to the ski area (see map)
Bus from Kurohime: If you are coming from Kanazawa or Niigata you can take thetrain to Kurohime station. From Kurohime station there is a free shuttle bus (40 minutes) to Togakushi, but you must make a reservation with the resort.

Tokyo Ski Buses to TOgakushi Snow World
During the ski season there is a Tokyo to Togakushi ski bus that costs 10,000 yen return. Contact Eagle Kanko Line in Tokyo on 03- 3251-3341
Ski Bus Club runs both night and day bus services between Tokyo Station, Shinjuku and Ikebukero to Togakushi. The cost for this servicet is 4,000 yen one way or 7,500 yen return.
