Information about Myoko Tourism & AccommodationDestination Myoko Kogen Ski Resort, myoko tourism

Sorry, we are not the official Myoko Tourist Site. If you wish to contact them please do so via the contact page at myoko.tv and they will be happy to help. Otherwise read on to find out more or check our About page.

Myoko Tourism & Accommodation

Are you the official Myoko Tourism site? Sorry for the confusion, no. We get that a lot – we are contacted regularly here at Destination Myoko Kogen by many people who mistake us for the official site. It’s very flattering in a way but not unexpected as we have been promoting Myoko in English since 2003, well before local tourist organisations and other agencies/websites. We’ve spent thousands of hours (and dollars!) putting the website together and continually updating. As a result of this effort our site is also by far the most comprehensive Myoko resource around and we get thousands of visitors every month. We are happy to be supporting Myoko tourism in a very tangible manner.

Please do not contact us if you are wanting to speak to the tourism board. However we are more than happy to help you with your Myoko accommodation and tour requirements (see below).

Help with your general Myoko tourism enquiries

Many apologies but unless you are doing your bookings through us we can’t help you with general enquiries. If you have booked through a hotel please ask them your questions. If you have booked through an agent please ask them your questions. Or direct your enquiries to the official site at myoko.tv. We hope you have an awesome time in the Myoko powder snow.

Destination Myoko Kogen – Myoko accommodation bookings – About Us

Through our registered Australian travel business (ABN 65823608916) we are continuing to work with select Myoko hotels for the 2016/17 season. We are happy to connect these hotels with both agencies and individuals.

Are you serious about trying to book something different? A ski in, ski out Suginohara lodge that is mostly off the beaten path for foreign visitors? Or a converted historic sake brewery in Ikenotaira Onsen with outstanding owners? Or some popular self contained accommodation in Akakura Onsen that isn’t listed with the ‘tourist board’*? Well then, we are happy to help them and help you. Please send us your details via this Myoko accommodation booking form (at the bottom of the page) and we look forward to helping you. 🙂

Here at Destination Myoko Kogen we will not only help you book the best hotels and get the best price but we will also be able to assist with the following services:

Myoko Snow Report: April 2014 and that’s a wrap

Myoko Kogen Snow Report

As you’ve probably guessed by now the season is just about done here. There are still some lifts open with keen skiers enjoying the sun and spring conditions. Akakan and Seki Onsen both still have over two metres base and will stay open until the end of Golden Week here (May 6) or if the snow runs out sooner. Also it’s a great time to be out in the backcountry with a trip to Koyaikke Hut. A crew from Nozawa have been up there this week and here’s a shot of the happy crew.

Backcountry Myoko

Below is a shot from this morning up in the area.  You can also see current slope conditions over on the Myoko Webcams page.

The snow this season has been a bit inconsistent but there’s also been plenty of great Myoko pow days. A big thanks to Damien, Matt and all the crew at Myoko Snowsports for their help with the reports this season. You guys rock!
