Myoko Kogen Snow Report 5th February 2014
Here comes the snow again!
Myoko Kogen Snow Report
The morning we were all waiting for, it dumped! There was around 30-50cm in the village and who knows how much up on the hill. It was nice, light and fluffy stuff too, not wet at all. Reports and pics are coming in now about depth and condition. Akakura Onsen is claiming a 70cm fall this morning on their website, whilst Akakan is claiming a mere 45cm. Seki Onsen officially got the tenth largest dump overnight in Japan at 36cm up to 7am whilst over in Nozawa Onsen they did even better with 39cm.
The start of the Tahara lift at Suginohara was delayed this morning because of the need for avalanche inspection. Given the unusual snow conditions please do be careful in the side and backcountry areas!
It dumped last night! Miho and Dave help Naoto dig out his car from last nights snow 🙂
